by Steve Bullard Sometimes things go wrong. And sometimes they go really, really wrong. That more or less sums up the 3rd quarter for the Allen Mustangs Friday night at Mustang Field. After taking a 1614 lead into the locker room, feeling pretty good about things, the next few minutes of the game would reverse that. A quick fumble, followed by a misplayed kickoff which led to a Savage recovery, and an interception turned a 2-point lead into a 34-16 deficit before many fans had found their seats after visiting the concession stand.

Allen will be buzzing with excitement as Southern Sass Boutique & Mercantile prepares to open in the Feed Store on Hwy 1 across from Idle Time Campers. The grand opening is Friday, Oct. 3, featuring shopping, food trucks, and live music.

Softball Senior Night 2025 honored two seniors who have been very involved in the Lady Mustangs’ softball program. These young ladies have not only contributed to this program but many other activities in Allen Schools. Both of these young ladies have played softball all four years of their high school careers.

Excitement is building in Allen as the community prepares for the grand opening of the new Southern Sass Boutique & Mercantile. The shop is located in the Feed Store, on Hwy 1 across the highway from Idle Time Campers. The celebration is set for Thursday, October 3, and promises to be an evening full of shopping, food, and live entertainment.
