Service Saturday for Pete Maloy

Charles Wheeler Maloy, known to many as Charlie and lovingly nicknamed Pete, was born August 8, 1939, to Gene and Bernola Maloy at Harden City, Oklahoma. He passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 in Tulsa.
Growing up on the family dairy farm with his nine siblings, Pete learned early the value of hard work and the importance of pulling together to care for one another. It was on the dairy farm where Pete lost two fingers on his right hand when he was a toddler. But this never stopped him. People knew him as threefinger- Charlie, one of the most generous people you ever met. Later he worked for Ada Glass Company before serving 20 years with the Ada Fire Department, where he became captain. He later moved to Arlington, Texas, where he retired from Roadway Trucking after another 20 years of dedicated work. Following retirement, he and his wife, Barbara, returned to Ada to be near their grandchildren.
He was a devoted member of Southwest Church of Christ and a farmer at heart, often tending a large garden with as many as 85 tomato plants. He enjoyed sharing his harvest with family, friends, neighbors, and fellow church members.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; sisters, Glenda, and Karen; and brothers, Bob and Kenny.
He is survived by his daughter, Gina of Arlington, Texas; his son, Doug and wife Suzy; grandchildren, Madison and Jake of Owasso, Oklahoma; and siblings Nancy of Sanford, Florida, Ruby Edlund and husband Lynn of Titusville, Florida, Mary Dixon of Ada, Oklahoma, Bill and wife Shandy of Ada, and Harold and wife Alice of Mustang, Oklahoma.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 19th, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Criswell Funeral Home in Ada.
Services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 20th, at Southwest Church of Christ in Ada, with Floyd Kaiser officiating. Burial at Rosedale Cemetery in Ada.
