Services held for Glenda Ferguson

Glenda Jean Ferguson, age 81 of Shawnee, passed away on September 18, 2025. Glenda was born on January 23, 1944 in Cleveland, Texas to Joyce Elaine and Virgil Warner Pratt. She graduated from Smiley High in 1961. She worked as a paralegal for about 40 years.

Glenda was a woman of unwavering Christian faith, whose life reflected love, grace, and compassion. She was a devoted mother and a proud Nana, always putting her family first and offering constant support, encouragement, and unconditional love. Her strength, kindness, and faith left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures — whether it was playing cards and dominoes with friends and family, singing with the Joy Choir, attending OKC Thunder games, traveling, or listening to David Phelps. When she was younger, she loved riding horses and bowling.

She also was an active member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Shawnee and previously of First Baptist Church Allen. She loved to serve others, just as Jesus would have served. She especially cherished time spent with her grandchildren, who brought her endless laughter and love. Her joyful spirit, love of music, and funloving nature will be fondly remembered and missed by all who knew her.

Glenda is preceded in death by parents Joyce Elaine and Virgil Warner Pratt, and nephew Brandon B. Pratt.

She is survived by brother Virgil Lynn Pratt and wife Nina; son Bill Haney; daughter Donna and her husband, Chris Dale; grandson William Dale; granddaughter Jayden Radford and her husband Dominick Radford; grandson Devon Haney; grandson Naaman Dale; granddaughter Abree Haney; grandson Joshua Dale; grandson Kainan Haney; grandson Kreed Haney; and nephew Nathan Lynn Pratt. She is also survived by loved ones who were like family which include: Kyndra Haney, Daycie Nemecek, and Eli Nemecek.

A funeral was held on September 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church, Shawnee.

Pallbearers were Devon Haney, William Dale, Joshua Dale, Kainan Haney, Naaman Dale, Kreed Haney, and Jayden Radford. Honorary Pallbearers are Abree Haney and Kreed Haney.
