Noweta Gyger passes Away

Noweta Gyger, age 77, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at the Inn at Bear Trail in Lewis Center, Ohio. She was born April 11, 1948, in West Columbia, Texas to the late Billy Murray Case and Laura Jo (Crofford) Pegg.

She was a graduate of Allen High School, in Allen, Oklahoma, class of 1966. After graduation, she enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy. She retired from the Fairfield County District Library, Johns Memorial Branch in Amanda, Ohio with over 20 years of service. Noweta was an avid reader. She enjoyed travel and camping with her family.

She is survived by her children, Laura Gyger of Newark, Ohio, Shelley (Khau) Tong of Lewis Center, Ohio, and Paul C. (Beth) Gyger III, of West Chester, Ohio; grandchildren, Morgan, Jillian and Natalie Gyger, and Caroline and Benjamin Tong; sister Tanya (Kerry) Caldwell, of Allen, Oklahoma; brother Richard Pegg, of Allen, Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother; and her husband of 52 years Paul C. Gyger, Jr.

Funeral service were held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, July 21, 2025, at Taylor-Theller Funeral Home, in Amanda. A private interment was held on Tuesday, July 22nd, at Amanda Township Cemetery.
