Calvin and Stuart Fire Departments along with Hughes County EMS responded to a double structure fire on the 400 block of Oak Street in Calvin Saturday night, February 26. While no one was injured in the blaze, a family with seven children who lost everything are in desperate need. If you are able to help with any of the following items, please leave them at Calvin School.

The young Starns family now reside in Londonderry, New Hampshire and were out & about for a visit with his parents and grandparents. Pictured here, left to right, are Frank Starns, Bennie Prentice, Amy and Ethan Starns, Kathryn Walden, and Bella, Nick and Jeri Starns. Nick works as an investment banker and Amy for a dermatologist when home in New Hampshire. And we are happy to report they left their 14-inches of snow there and didn’t bring it with them.
