Clean Up and Neighborhood Watch

There was discussion on the cashless was no action taken on that recommendation. Town Clerk Kala Stephens and Police Chief Armstrong were working on the ticket reporting issue. There was also an overall loss in the Public Works Authority. The town had spend quite a bit upgrading the wells and lines that year and in October had a approved a small rate increase. The Auditor recommended perhaps a series of small rate increases in the coming years. As we all know nothing gets cheaper and chemicals and labor cost are always increasing. He thought a water rate study might give us a clearer picture on what we need to charge to break even or even report a small profit. All profits are always put back into improving the system. A discussion on a Town Clean up date was discussed. We are currently waiting on a big roll-off dumpster as ours is full. When it comes in, probably around the first of April we will begin the monthly Saturday opening of the sewer plant for people to use on the weekend. If you have limbs or a small load of items you can get with city hall and they will open the plant during work hours during the week. The cost per load is $15 per truck load and limbs are free to dispose of in the burn pile.
