Services Monday for Joe Nemecek

Tony Alan Nemecek passed away September 9, 2025 peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family and loved ones. He fought and finally won his battle against cancer.

Tony was born in Ada, Oklahoma onAugust 19th, 1961. He graduated high school at Byng in 1980. He met the love of his life, Diana Jo McCullar, at a livestock show in Wilburton and they were married January 22, 1982. Shortly after, Tony took a job working alongside his dad in the North Sea on a barge, causing them to move to Edinburgh, Scotland for a year. Afterwards, he took a job working for the Union Pacific railroad.

Wanting to be home with his family, his siblings and parents decided to start up the family business trucking company, A&J Transportation, which is still run by the family today. Tony enjoyed his retirement working on his Two Guns Ranch.

To know Tony was to love him. No matter where he was in the world, he never met a stranger. He would give you the shirt off his back, or buy one for you if he could. His story telling was famously hilarious always with his flare added in. He would crack jokes with his wit, keeping anyone entertained for hours. He lived life large and to the fullest. His favorite hobbies were always riding horses, eating weird food, and most of all, spending every waking minute with his three grandchildren. From trail rides to vacations to road trips, he wanted his grandkids to have the most fun they could growing up.

Tony is preceded in death by his father, Murel Andrew Nemecek.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Diana Nemecek, of the home; son Joshua Nemecek; daughter Dana Jo and husband Wes Sanford of Byng; mother June (Wofford) Nemecek of Byng; granddaughters Kylie Nemecek of Orlando, Florida, and Daycie Nemecek of Mcloud; grandson Eli Nemecek of Mcloud; brother Joe Nemecek and wife Sandy of Ada; sister Cissy Winton and husband Alan of Byng; special daughter-in- law Kyndra Beth Haney of Mcloud; nephew Andrew Nemecek and wife Beth of Allen; niece Brittnea Lewis and husband Brenton of Allen; niece Andi Joe Saiz and husband Alex of Ada; nephew Zeb Nemecek and wife Kimberly of Allen; nephew Joseph Nemecek III of Seminole; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins that were all special to Tony.

Services will be Monday, September 15th, at 11:00 am at Criswell Funeral home, followed by burial at New Bethel Cemetery in Byng. The services will be officiated by Brother Reno Dye.
