Rites held for Margaret Leaverton

Margaret Anne Leaverton, was born November 16, 1946 to Marjorie Anne McCarter (Stallings) and Jack Charles McCarter. She passed away Monday, June 2, 2025.

Margaret graduated from Southeast High School in Oklahoma City where she met Anthony Joseph Leaverton. They married in OKC on December 8, 1967 in her family home.

She worked at Coca Cola for many years following, worked in a factory making speakers, Stratford Nursing Home in the Laundry, and finished her career in Ada Care Center before retiring. She loved country music and enjoyed going to the McSwain theater every chance she got. She also enjoyed doing all kinds of crafts, including wood burning, puzzles, video games, loved cooking, and drawing for the kids.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister Terri Hill.

She is survived by a sister, Linda Jones and husband Bill of Stratford; nieces Jacki and Stephanie Hill also of Stratford; nephews Billy Jones and wife Gretchen of Edmond, and Michael Jones and wife Tiffany of Derby, Kansas; and many other friends and family.

Services was 2:00 PM Saturday, June 7th, in DeArman/Pickard Chapel with Bill Jones and William Michael Jones officiating. Interment was Wednesday, June 11th, in the Allen, Oklahoma Cemetery.
