Service held for Charles Tilley

Charles Edward Tilley passed away Thursday, May 1, 2025 at his home in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 89.

Charles was born May 9, 1935 in Pittsburg, Oklahoma to Ray Tilley and Mary (Parsons) Tilley. Charles graduated from Byng High School and then attended some college classes. He married Eula B. Brown on March 17, 1955 in Holdenville, Oklahoma. He worked for Burlington Northern as a Communications Supervisor. Charles enjoyed fishing, fixing things, bird watching and gardening. He loved spending time with his family.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Mary Tilley, and grandson Charles Edward Tilley, III.

He is survived by his wife Eula Tilley of the home; son, Charles Edward Tilley Jr. and wife Wendy, of Fort Worth, Texas; daughter, Deborah Lynn Gilmore and husband David of Norman; grandchildren Tia McPherson of Ft Worth, Texas, Sally Scholefield of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Andrew Gilmore of Norman, and Kyle Gilmore of Twin Falls, Idaho; greatgrandchildren Thomas Gilmore, Damian Gilmore, Georgia Gilmore, Abram Gilmore, Madison Scholefield, Malcom Scholefield, Francine Gilmore, Perry Gilmore, and Alden Gilmore; brother Cecil Tilley and wife Laura of Searcy, Arkansas; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Noon until 1:45 p.m., Wednesday, May 7th, at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.

Funeral service were at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 7th, at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home with Pastor David Gilmore officiating assisted by Andrew Gilmore. Interment will follow at Allen Cemetery.

Pallbearers are David Gilmore, Ed Tilley, Andrew Gilmore, Tim Costner, Alex Tilley and Damian Gilmore.

Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville, Oklahoma.
