With the 34-6 win last Friday’s on the Mustangs trip to Savanna, they secured a spot in the playoffs. “We were happy to be in the playoff picture, but we are looking for more, wins these next two weeks will let us start the playoffs on Mustang field.” Allen has a big fete in front of them this week as they travel to Hartshorne for a district contest. Hartshorne and Allen both are sitting at 4-1 in district play, looking for that second place finish behind the Stroud Tigers. Hartshorne owns a 4-3 record overall with losses to Heavner, Hennryetta and Stroud.

The win moved Allen’s record to 5-2 overall and 3-1 in district and sitting in a 3ways tie for second place in the playoff race. Stroud is sitting in the drivers seat. In second place with the Mustangs are Hartshorne and Mounds which both remain on the schedule so the team will have its fate in it own hands.

Seventeen schools were present, and Allen’s STUCO members were given opportunities to interact with students from other schools while playing games and participating in leadership exercises. They reported having a good time and gathered some great ideas to bring back to our student body. Read moreThe Lady Mustangs had a strong first day in the Regional Tournament hosted by top ranked Caddo. Allen started the day beating Bennington to face the Caddo. The Lady Mustangs may have played best game of their season and gave Caddo a scare. The loss put the Ladies in the loser’s bracket. The game against Rattan found the Lady Mustangs playing a little flat and Allen ended their season. “We got a little better each game of the season and by the end we were as good as anyone but came up just short at the end. This was a great group of girls, and we are ready to come back in the spring and try it again,” said Coach Richbourg.
