Although the County Election Board can accept applications for absentee ballots until 5 p.m. on Wednesday, February 26 th , voters who want to vote by absentee ballot to apply early. At least two mail transactions must be made. The County Election Board must mail the ballots to the voter and the voter must return the voted ballots by mail. Ballots must be in the hands of County Election Board officials by 7 p.m. on Election Day to be counted.

An attempted traffic stop Tuesday morning resulted in an over 12-hour standoff. Around 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2020, an Allen Offi cer was on Hwy 48 directing traffic while a crew was doing some work at the Housing addition.
